Full Moon in Gemini: Are we really different?
On December 6th we have a Full Moon in the sign of Gemini. This is the fruition of seeds planted back on November 22nd when we had a New Moon in the first degree of Sagittarius. Full Mon’s are times of awareness, what the nature of that awareness is depends on the axis that is being stimulated by the Full Moon. The Sagittarius/Gemini axis is the Axis of the Mind. Gemini deals with the more logical left brain while Sagittarius deals with the more creative and intuitive right brain. How we think, what we believe to be true is highlighted at this time.
If we look around us we can see many examples of what people believe to be true. Just surf the web, turn on the TV or walk through a major US city. We are in a very high energy time where issues of social justice (Sagittarius) come up against the idea that we are different from each other (Gemini).
The Full Moon axis is being energized by two distinct energies. Uranus, the planet of sudden out of nowhere change in freedom loving Aries is making supportive connections to both the Sun and Moon. The hunger for things to change is great and with Uranus supporting the Sun and Moon it would seem that this is a perfect time for things to move in positive direction. But what a ‘positive direction” means is up for interpretation. The Moon which deals with how we habitually react and respond to life is in the sign of duality. Gemini can be very black and white (pun, not necessarily intended), so one person’s ‘positive’ direction can very easily be diametrically opposed to another’s ‘positive’ direction. And the opposition between the Sun and Moon is really more about seeing things from the most objective place possible, and doesn’t necessarily connote movement on this issue.
In order for movement to happen there needs to be a third energy that tips the scales. This is the other distinct energy working upon this Full Moon axis. Chiron in Pisces which is in a square both the Sun in Sagittarius and the Moon in Gemini. Chiron is the archetype of the the wound that will not heal. In Pisces the wound is one of separation from Source. This deep seeded abandonment is within each and every one of us, and can fuel feelings of being unwanted, less than and a victim of our circumstances.
Pisces is the sign of Source energy and holds within the Power of Transcendence. On the New Moon of November 22nd Neptune which is also in Pisces was square the New Moon, fueling a spiritual crisis that require us to look at what we believe to be true. Neptune dissolves the boundaries that keep us separate, Chiron points to the wounds created by that sense of separation. In transcending that sense of separation we come to understand that we are all one, and what is done to the least of us, or to the greatest of us, is done to all of us. In hurting others we are simply hurting ourselves. This realization can put a lot of holes in the “us vs them” paradigm that is perpetrated by those who want to keep us in the dark.
We are waking up, folks, and just in time! Look to see what thoughts and habit patterns keep you stuck in suffering, in a sense of victimization or a sense of isolation and transcend it. Connect to the source of all things and take a swim in the healing waters of the Great Cosmic Sea!
